Noted Oklahoma writer Rilla Askew, author of novels, stories, and nonfiction, will trace the history of Anne Askew, the heroine of Prof. Askew’s latest novel., Prize for the Fire. Anne Askew defied religious authorities, including the king of England, to follow her own faith. Her reward was to be taken to the Tower of London to be tortured on the rack, then publicly burned as a heretic.
