Senior Acquisitions Editor

Senior Acquisitions Editor for Indigenous and Native American Studies, Latin America, Women’s Studies, and Classical Studies

I acquire scholarly monographs, textbooks, and trade books in the humanities and social sciences. It is my goal to select the most pathbreaking book projects for OU Press, and I enjoy working closely with authors as well as with series editors to create the strongest possible titles. I have a special interest in finding topics that are deeply researched and written engagingly for a broad audience. Textbooks geared to specific courses are another interest of mine. I’m proud that many of our Native American books, especially those on languages, are being used by Indigenous nations. Books I have acquired have won prestigious awards, and I’ve successfully written grant applications to support scholarly publishing. Throughout the year I attend several conferences where I meet potential and current authors and get a sense of how the scholarly fields are developing.

Before I came to OU Press in 2003, I interned with another university press and earned a full scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to attend the University of Arizona for two semesters. I earned my MA from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.

When I’m not at work, I spend time with my family, practice yoga, work on my vegetable garden, and travel to see family in Germany and Italy.

I acquire for the following series:

American Indian Literature and Critical Studies
The Charles M. Russell Series on Art and Photography of the American West
The Civilization of the American Indian
New Directions in Native American Studies
Oklahoma Series in Classical Culture
Women and the American West
